N-C-R was founded by Kenneth Schwieterman. Ken has spent the past 15 years in the real estate industry as an investor, teacher, broker and CEO for a discount/on-line realty company. The name of the company was Discount Properties, Inc.
In 2004, real estate commissions totaled $61,000,000,000! Ken constantly heard the feedback from consumers that they wanted a change! Consumers were fed up with the excessive commissions real estate agents were receiving. Consumers were outraged when their realtor received a check for several thousand dollars for a few hours of work. Ken believed that there was a better way to facilitate the sale and that is to simply charge one low fee ($2000) regardless of the sales price. He believes that money from the real estate transaction should go in the consumer's pocket - not the realtor's! Ken's motto is that reducing real estate costs benefits everyone! Well - everyone except for the traditional realtors…
Ken also believes that is was ludicrous that the realtor was paid based on the sales price of the home. He felt this was a huge conflict of interest. Ken has seen first hand how many realtors looked out for their best interest instead of their client's.
Being a Florida real estate agent, broker and president in the industry, he was also NOT happy with the public perception of real estate agents. The 2004 Gallop pole rated real estate agents along with car salesman, as the lowest ranking profession.
Ken also DID NOT like the DISCOUNT concept that many new companies were using to enter the lucrative real estate market. He knew the value that a full service realtor provided. He knew the importance of having a real estate agent provide guidance, counseling, support and candid feedback during the process. Therefore, he created N-C-R (No Commission Realty) to totally change/revolutionize the real estate industry.
Ken really enjoys hearing and seeing how individuals use the money they save as a result of selecting N-C-R. The variation of the uses has been amazing. Individuals have used the savings for insurance, landscaping, furniture, trips, children tuition, horse ownership, tithing, investments, automobiles, appliances, electronics, etc. In fact, Ken has pictures and letters posted on the walls of the corporate headquarters.
